Hebrews 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

We all have one appointment to keep in this life that we will not miss. It is our last appointment and is actually the most important one we will ever keep. This appointment is death and it is not the last appointment but really the first of a new life. The key is to make sure we are ready for the appointment and no follow up is needed. Revelations mentions 4 times of a second death. It's a follow up appointment for those separated from God (those who chose not to believe in Christ) and it comes after the judgement. Read about it in Revelations 20:14 and 21:8 and make sure it's an appointment you never keep.

But as for you, only keep yourselves from the things under the ban, so that you do not covet them and take some of the things under the ban, and make the camp of Israel accursed and bring trouble on it. (Joshua 6:18 NASB)

Jericho was given to the Israelites by God with one condition to not covet the spoils of the conquest. Still, one man (Achan) took some of the banned goods and it accursed the entire camp of Israel. Achan spoiled it for everyone! Spoiled means to impair, corrupt or make unfit for use. This is power of sin in the camp. Our sin can spoil it for everyone around us. Keep yourself pure and holy. Drive the sin out of your life this week!
