Ministry

Galatians 5:13      . . . serve one another in love.

We often think of ministry as a special calling into full time service to God and there is a “calling out” [Acts 13] of certain people. Yet, the reality is that we are all called into a relationship with Christ [salvation] and then into service for the Kingdom [servanthood].  As a believer no one is exempt from service to God!  The question then becomes are you in a relationship with Christ? If so, then how are you serving Him?

Accountability

Romans 12:5 -  . . . so in Christ, we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

“Accountability runs against the grain of our individualistic society. We like to be our own person, do our own thing, and not have someone else tell us what to do or believe.” But God’s word says that we belong to one another. “Our connectedness means we must lay aside the island mentality. We do not stand independent of one another.” [I found this in some reading last week and wanted to pass it along] Where and to whom do you hold yourself accountable?

Reconnect

Hebrews  10:24-25   And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the  habit of doing but let us encourage one another -- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

How long would you go without seeing, tweeting, texting, or facebooking your friends? How often do you communicate with your spouse, parents, or children? Scripture says that Christ is to be first and foremost in our lives [Matt. 6:33] yet, 84% of Christians don’t connect with God’s word daily. This causes us to become unattached from God and His people. What will you do to reconnect yourself or others to God and His people this week?

Connected

Romans 12:5     So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

We live in a connected world. If you are not wired in then you are missing out. Do you Facebook, Tweet, or Skype? Are you Linkedin or connected to the Cloud? I’ve got to keep this simple only 140 characters or less. Wow! I can’t do it… too much of a social butterfly. The reality is we are to be connected but the essential is to Christ and His body not all these other tools! How connected are you to your body of Christ [Church]? Most of the time we think this is a them issue when actually it’s a me issue? Get over it and get connected!  I <3 U

Free to Serve

Galatians 5:13-14     For you have been called to live in freedom… use your freedom to serve one another in love.  For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.

I imagine that not one soul reading this blog woke up this morning thinking, who can I serve today? Our natural inclination is to serve ourselves but God’s command is to serve others. In fact, your freedom depends on it! Who and how many will you serve today?
